Fifth Ave. building nets $26.5 million

The United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism acquired a new site for its headquarters on July 26 by selling its former base on Fifth Ave. in Manhattan for $26.5 million.

The UCSJ sold its former seven-story office building at 155 Fifth Ave. to 155 Fifth Avenue LLC, an affiliate of New York City's Philips International Holding Corp.

The building offers 32,500 sq. feet of space.

The organization used the funds gained from the sale to purchase the site for its new headquarters, now located in a 25,300 sq. foot space in the 19-story building at 820 Second Ave. in Queens. The price of that sale was undisclosed, but the organization bought the space from Second 820 Owner LLC, also an affiliate of Philips.

International commercial real estate services firm Studley represented the UCSJ in both transactions.

The UCSJ acquired the building at 155 Fifth Ave. in 1977.

Address: 155 Fifth Ave., New York City, N.Y.

Size: 32,500 sq. feet
