Mervyn's sold for $62 million to international real estate investment firm Capmark Financial Group Inc. on March 15.
MDS Realty II, LLC sold the 336,000 sq. foot building at 22301 Foothill Blvd. in Hayward, which is located 18 miles south of Oakland.

Studley represented MDS Realty II in the sale.
Originally built in 1958 as a department store, the three-story building has served as the national headquarters for Mervyns since 1984, when a fourth floor was added.
Mervyn's has signed a long-term lease for the property.
The building was completely renovated in 1997. Located approximately one mile from the I-580/Hwy 238 interchange, the property consists of 8.8 acres and a four-level parking structure.
With 105 offices and operations in North America, Asia and Europe,
Capmark had approximately $5.2 billion in real estate-related investments under management and supervision as of Dec. 31, 2006.
MDS Realty II is based in Chicago and has bought land under a number of Mervyns department stores in the country before reselling them.
