Maryland-based
Lancaster Foods bought a 205,000 square foot freezer warehouse from
Giant Food for $14.5 million on Aug. 21.
Ben Meisels of
CB Richard Ellis represented Lancaster while brokers from
Preston Partners and
Jones Lang Lasalle represented Giant Foods.
The 24-acre property is located at 7540 Assateague Dr. in Jessup, Md. It features 36 loading docks and two drive-in bays.
Lancaster plans a major renovation to the property and looks to move in during the first quarter of next year.
Giant Food is a Washington, D.C.-based grocery company that serves customers in Baltimore, Washington, D.C., New Jersey and Delaware.
Jessup, Md.-based Lancaster Foods is a subsidiary of Guest Services Inc., a private hospitality management company located in Fairfax, Va.
CB Richard Ellis is a Los Angeles-based commercial real estate services firm.
Jones Lang Lasalle is one of the world's largest real estate and investment management companies.
