10/4/2007Grubb & Ellis negotiates $30 million sale of Calif. industrial property
by Michael WayneSafeway Inc. has purchased a 327,615 square foot industrial building in El Monte, Calif., for $30 million from NavCom Defense Electronics Inc.Ryan Campbell and Gary Kreft of Grubb & Ellis' Los Angeles office represented Navcom while Peter Bacci and Jim Kinetz of Lee & Associates represented Safeway. The building, located at 4323 Arden Drive, is situated on 20 acres. The property includes a 410-foot loading platform and 15 loading docks. Campbell, associate vice president at Grubb & Ellis, specializes in marketing industrial properties in California. Kreft is a senior vice president at Grubb & Ellis and is currently marketing 633 W. Foothill in Glendora, Calif., and 2300 Pomona Blvd., in Pomona, Calif. Pacci, senior vice president at Lee & Associates, has been with the company since 1996. He won the "Top 3" award at the company in 2000-2005 and his client list includes ING Clarion Partners, Morgan Stanley Real Estate Fund and ProLogis. NavCom Defense Electronics, Inc., established in 1932 as Hoffman Electronics, is a design and manufacturer of navigation systems, altimetry systems and test equipment for the Department of Defense.
