10/22/2007Cushman & Wakefield retained as leasing agents for Freedom Tower
by The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has named global real estate services firm
Cushman and Wakefield as the exclusive leasing agent for 1 World Trade Center, also known as Freedom Tower.
Vice Chairman
Tara I. Stacom will head the leasing team. In addition to her role as vice chairman, Ms. Stacom is also a member of the firm's Global Advisory Board and as been honored as Cushman & Wakefield's top broker worldwide.
The three-year contract calls for Cushman & Wakefield to lease 1.5 million square feet of the 2.6 million square feet the tower will house upon completion. The state and federal governments have already claimed 1.1 million square feet of the property under lease agreements.
Currently under construction in lower Manhattan on the former site of the World Trade Center, the $3 billion Freedom Tower will be the tallest of five buildings in the new
World Trade Center complex when it opens in 2012.
Cushman & Wakefield is headquartered in New York City and has 215 offices in 56 countries.
