10/29/2007Inland Real Estate buys Illinois distribution site for $28.5 million
by Oakbrook, Ill.-based Inland Real Estate Group has acquired a 513,000 square foot industrial building from Boston-based publisher Houghton-Mifflin Co., for $25.8 million. Cushman & Wakefield brokered the deal for Houghton-Mifflin. Located at 1900 S. Batavia Ave., the property was built on 25 acres and currently serves as a distribution center for Houghton-Mifflin, one of the world's largest textbook publishers. The company has signed a 12 year lease. Geneva, located approximately 42 miles west of Chicago, has a population of 19,515, according to 2000 census numbers. Address: 1900 S.
