11/8/2007Grubb & Ellis finalizes sale of Kansas City office property

Chicago-based ORIX Real Estate Capital has purchased a 94,846 square foot office property in Kansas City, Mo., for an undisclosed price from Opus Estates LLC. Eric Berkman of Grubb & Ellis' Washington, D.C., office represented Opus while Brian Murphy, vice president of acquisitions, and Eric Wollan, senior vice president of acquisitions at ORIX, represented the buyer. The building is located at 300 Wyandotte Ave. in Kansas City's River Mark neighborhood. It's currently 100 percent leased to seven tenants and is the headquarters for HOK Sport, a sports architecture firm, which occupies 81 percent of the property. Berkman is a senior VP with Grubb & Ellis' Washington, D.C., Institutional Investment Group. He was named a "Hot Broker" by Commercial Property News in 2003 and was a top five broker for G&E the same year. He is a graduate of Colorado College and the University of Chicago.
