NAI completes two San Diego transactions worth $10M

K&S Commercial Investments, LLC has acquired a 27,113 square foot industrial building in National City, Calif., for $4 million from Chicago, Ill.-based Joseph T. Ryerson and Son, Inc.

K&S was represented in the deal by Marten Barry of NAI's San Diego office while the seller was self-represented. The acquisition was financed in part by a $3.2 million loan from City National Bank.

The building is located at 2300 Haffley Ave. on 2.06 acres. It has been leased to WestAir Gases & Equipment, the largest independently owned welding and gases supply distributor in the Southwestern U.S.

In a separate transaction, Groovy Like A Movie purchased a 26,656 square foot office building in San Diego from California Commercial Properties for $6 million.

The buyer was also represented by Barry, along with Jim Hughes. California Commercial was represented by Matt Kelly of Burnham Real Estate.

The building is located at 5205 Kearny Villa Way and is fully leased by the buyer, a film production company.

Barry is the founder and president of NAI's San Diego office and is currently working as a broker. He is a former broker for Merrill Lynch Commercial Real Estate and a past president of the San Diego County Commercial Association of Realtors. He earned his B.A. in Economics from the University of California-San Diego.

Hughes is an executive VP with NAI and is the former managing director of the Insignia/ESG San Diego office before it was acquired by CB Richard Ellis. He is member of San Diego's Rotary Club and a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania.
