Mike Burkard and Steve Shields of CB Richard Ellis represented Johnson Development in the deal. The portfolio contains 528,256 square feet and includes six grocery anchored centers and five convenience strip centers. Ten of the properties are located in Spartanburg and one is located in Columbia. In September 2007, Johnson Development sold a 4.2 million square foot industrial portfolio in North and South Carolina for $214.7 million to CB Richard Ellis Realty Trust. Burkard is a senior VP with CBRE and joined the company in its Washington, D.C., office in 1987 and then moved on to join the Investment Properties division in Charlotte in 2000. He has been a top five producer in the Carolinas since 2003. Shields, a sales associate, has been with CBRE since 2004 when he joined the company as a financial analyst. He has had a variety of operational and financial roles in Denver, Colorado and Charlotte. He was CBRE's 2004 "Rookie of the Year."
