1/17/2008Lee & Associates finalizes $10.75M sale of California industrial building
by Chad KingLos Angeles, Calif.-based Aloha Freight Forwarders has purchased an industrial building in Compton for $10.75 million from Atlanta, Ga.-based Oakmont Industrial Group. Don Smith and Craig Poropat of Lee & Associates' South Bay office represented the seller in the transaction. The building is situated on 4.59 acres at 1800 South Anderson St. It contains 83,527 square feet and is the former home of a cookie manufacturing plant. Aloha was in the second year of a 10-year lease when Oakmont offered the building. Oakmont purchased the property in 2004 and added 32,527 square feet of industrial space to the existing building. Smith is a senior vice president with Lee & Associates and specializes in commercial and industrial brokerage. He led the South Bay office of Grubb & Ellis as a VP for eight years before joining Lee & Associates. He is a member of the Harbor Transportation Club and is a graduate of California State University at Long Beach. Poropat is also a senior VP and has been with Lee & Associates since 1991. He spent five years with Grubb & Ellis and earned his B.S. in Marketing from California State University at Long Beach. Address: 1800 South Anderson St., Compton, Calif.
