Karl Storz Endoscopy-America, Inc., a medical instrument production company, has purchased a 121,124 square foot office building in El Segundo, Calif., for $39.5 million from Transwestern Investment Co. Steve Solomon of Jones Lang LaSalle represented Transwestern while Karl Storz was represented by Mike Catalano of Studley. The four-story building is located at 2151 E. Grand Ave. and sold for $326 per square foot. KSE plans to occupy the building, which is situated on 3.98 acres. Other tenants of the building include the Los Angeles Sparks, a WNBA team. Catalano joined Studley in 1993 after spending six years with Grubb & Ellis. He specializes in leases, sales, joint ventures and build-to-suit alternatives. He earned his B.S. in Psychology with an emphasis in Business Administration from UCLA. El Segungo is located roughly 20 miles southwest of Los Angeles and has a population of 16,033.
