A 181-unit multi-family complex in the Chicago suburb of Elgin, Ill., the Square Village Apartments, has been placed on the market with an asking price of $17.2 million, or $95,027 per unit.

Scott Harris of Marcus & Millichap's Oak Brook office has been hired to market and sell the property for the seller, Illinois Elgin, LP.

Squire Village is a 181-unit apartment complex located at 1146 Yew Court in Elgin, about 40 miles northwest of Chicago, with easy access to highways and public transportation. The community sits on a 15-acre lot and features 22 one-bedroom, 69 two-bedroom, 77 three-bedroom and 13 four-bedroom units. It contains 271,810 square feet and is being offered with an 8.21 percent capitalization rate. About 80 percent of the tenants at Squire Village use Section 8 vouchers.

Last month, Harris represented Aspen Square Management in the $21.87 million sale of the Campus Pointe Apartments and the Campus Manor Apartments.

Address: 1146 Yew Court, Elgin, Ill.
