Inland Western Retail Real Estate has purchased the Jefferson Commons retail center in Newport News, Va., for $79.6 million from an affiliate of West Palm Beach, Fla.-based The Goodman Company. Casey Rosen and Dennis Carson of CB Richard Ellis and Debra Ramsey of The Shopping Center Group represented The Goodman Co. in the transaction. The property contains 306,249 square feet and was built in 2005. It is located at 12551 Jefferson Ave. and was fully leased at the time of sale to tenants including Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse, Petco, Starbucks, Panera Bread and Ross Dress for Less. Rosen is a senior VP with CB Richard Ellis and is a former co-owner and co-managing member of Blackrock Retail Property Advisors. He is also a former investment sales specialist with Trammell Crow. Carson, also a senior VP, came to CB Richard Ellis with Rosen from Blackrock. He is a former associate in Chemical Banking Corporation's real estate finance group in New York and is a graduate of Boston University. Address: 12551 Jefferson Ave., Newport News, Va.
