Grubb & Ellis purchases two Silver Spring office buildings

Grubb & Ellis Realty Investors, LLC, on behalf of its Wealth Management Program, has purchased TecHill I & II in the Washington, D.C., suburb of Silver Spring, Md., from ING Clarion Partners, LLC.

Grubb & Ellis' Eric Berkman represented ING Clarion in the transaction.

The three-story office buildings were built in 2000 and 2002 and are located at 12211 and 12215 Plum Orchard Rd. They contain a combined 143,000 square feet on 7.4 acres and are currently 100 percent occupied by two major tenants: 3M Health Information Systems and Children's Hospital.

Berkman is a senior VP with Grubb & Ellis and has been with the firm since 1999. He is a former employee of ONCOR International and earned his bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Chicago. He worked on the Jimmy Carter Reelection Campaign in 1979 and was employed by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee from 1980 to 1983.
