Cushman & Wakefield sells Meadowlands center

For the third time in five years, Cushman & Wakefield has orchestrated the sale of Metropolitan Center, the 420,000 square foot Meadowlands office property at One Meadowlands Plaza in East Rutherford.
ING Clarion sold the suburban office tower to CB Richard Ellis Investors for an undisclosed amount as part of a larger portfolio.

The 15-story building sits directly off Exit 16W of the New Jersey Turnpike at its intersection with Route 3. It is located adjacent to the Sheraton Meadowlands Hotel and Conference Center, directly across from the Meadowlands Sports Complex and the Xanadu development.

Cushman & Wakefield's involvement with Metropolitan Center dates back to the property's construction in 1986. The firm served as property manager for developer MetLife until Merin's team sold the building to CB Richard Ellis Investors for the first time in 2003. The company was again appointed leasing agent for Metropolitan Center when ING Clarion - represented by the Metropolitan Area Capital Markets Group - acquired it in 2005. Additionally, Cushman & Wakefield's New Jersey headquarters is based there.

Address: New Jersey Turnpike and Route 3, East Rutherford, N.J.

Size: 420,000 square feet

Built: 1986
