Third Wave Partners, LLC has added David Messing, Peter Laird and Randall Reel as principals in various California-based offices.
Messing joins the firm's San Francisco-area office. Previously he worked at HSH Nordbank, where as senior vice president and western regional manager, was responsible for originating, structuring and managing more than $1 billion of commercial real estate loans in the Western U.S.
Prior to that, he was director and regional manager for international investment bank Calyon, running the western regional real estate lending operations.
Messing received his B.A. from Duke University and MBA from Columbia University.
Laird, a 25-year-real estate vet and attorney, joins the firm in its Orange County office. Previously he was managing director at the investment and development company Pacific Century, Inc. and vice president of Burnett Development Company, where he was responsible for acquisitions, dispositions and in-house legal matters.
Laird received his law degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Reel comes to Third Wave Partners with a diverse background as a developer, lender and consultant. Most recently, he was with Las Vegas-based Molasky Group of Companies, where he managed a $600 million institutional investment portfolio and was responsible for the execution of the firm's large scale urban infill and residential development projects. Prior to that, he was with Haverford Capital.
Reel is a graduate of California State University, Fullerton with a degree in business, concentration in finance.
